As China’s most authoritative academic institution in scientific
research, clinical science and education of traditional Chinese
medicine, China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CATCM)
is composed of over 10 research institutes and five affiliated
hospitals, with a faculty of more than 4000 people, among
whom, 900 are research or associate research fellows. There
are China’s largest library and  information
center on traditional Chinese medicine and publishes about
10 periodicals in this area. In recent years, CATCM has established
three collaboration centers with the World Health Organization
for traditional medicine, acupuncture and traditional Chinese
materia medica and continuously expanded its academic exchanges
with other countries. Over 900 postgraduates with master or
doctor degree have graduated from CATCM, and the academy has
sponsored, for international students from over 80 countries
or regions, more than 40 classes on acupuncture, tuina and
materia medica.
The Training Center of the China Academy of Traditional Chinese
Medicine (TC) was founded in 1994. As a training institution
for continuing education and professional training, the center
is dedicated herself to offer opportunities for individuals
interested in TCM or professionals who need further studies
or wish to exchange their experiences in TCM, including physicians,
TCM pharmacists, acupuncturists, massage therapists, to help
them upgrade their academic and clinical level.
Since her establishment, TC has sponsored tens of training
classes including both domestic and international classes.
TC is highly appreciated both at home and abroad for her excellent
teaching quality, responsible organization and reception work,
and regular administration.
The curricula of TCM include
1. International Class:
● Basic Acu―moxibustion class:
1∽2 months
● Advanced Acu-moxibustion
class: 2 weeks∽1 month
● Basic Tuina-Massage class:
1 weeks∽2 month
● Advanced Tuina-Massage class:
1 week∽2 weeks.
● Herbal Medicine Class: 1
month.
2. Further Education Class (full
time): Classes taught by famous veteran physicians,
Advanced class for all subjects in TCM, Class for integrated
Chinese-western medical therapies, Specialty classes, Classes
in promoting therapeutic techniques for anal-rectal diseases.
3. Professional classes (part
time): Tuina-Massage class (2 months), Acu-moxibustion
class (2 months).
 Our
center enrolls regular recruits throughout the year. Besides
primary, middle and advanced classes, we also organize a variety
of special classes and international preparatory guiding courses
for TCM, acu-moxibustion and tuina. From 2000 we started to
sponsor on-line and tele-education classes for both domestic
and international students. Our center has excellent teachers,
good clinical bases and satisfactory accommodations. With
excellent teachers and good bases for clinical practice and
provides proper accommodations, the center is highly appreciated
both in China and abroad.
